Overall the course was amazing. Every day I learned something new, and it was the best possible way to spend money on learning about growing mushrooms. What I found most valuable was the way Mark and John share their knowledge and experiences, it was a pleasure to listen to their lectures, anecdotes, and stories, and to learn from their lifelong experience. Visiting many companies (compost, casing, spawn, farms) and seeing the process from the ground up was very insightful. The diverse group of participants also enabled interesting discussions and exchange of experiences. It was an amazing time and I fully recommend the course.

The company visits are particularly interesting because all this material has already been covered in the theory section. It’s good that the ‘self-study’ module is included as preparation; that way, you arrive at the course with a bit more background knowledge. It’s a good idea to schedule the group lunch at the start of the course. That way, you get to interact with all the other participants straight away. The lunches were well organised.
