In this module, you will learn the basics of climate in the growing room. You understand what happens in the climate unit and why the same temperature can still feel warmer or colder. What happens to the air when it is cooled down? Thanks to simple explanations, the complicated Mollier diagram becomes clear. For a mushroom grower, it is essential to understand the relationship between moisture in the air and air temperature.
E-Learning
The e-learning is based on the book “Mushroom Signals.” In this module, you will learn how the climate in the cultivation room is controlled. You will discover why minimum and maximum CO₂ levels are used, what the effects of cooling are, and whether it is possible to cool a cultivation room with warm outside air. All these questions and more are answered in the e-learning. Through simple explanations, you will gain an understanding of how the Mollier diagram works. If you have a climate computer, it will control the climate, but as a grower, you need to correctly operate the computer. If not done properly, it could lead to excessive energy use and adversely affect the quality of the mushrooms. The e-learning module takes about 2 hours to complete.
Webinar
During the online live training session, the e-learning component is explained and discussed in more detail by the trainer. Together with fellow students (maximum 15), you will discuss problems you encounter in daily practice. This exchange will help you assess and optimise your operational processes.
Training Growing
The “Mycelium growth and recovery” module is one of 7 modules covering the entire mushroom growing process. Other modules include:
After completing all modules, you will be able to understand the entire process and make adjustments if necessary, in order to produce the optimal mushrooms in the quality for your specific market.

In mushroom growing there are many roads that lead to Rome. The key question is not which road you take but why you take it. This question is often difficult to answer. The answer will give you an understanding of your composting and growing processes and how to improve them. I guide you through all this with courses, e-learning, and advice. And together we discover ways of improving your bottom line. Because that is ultimately what it is all about.
E-learning in combination with live training: more effective and efficient learning. Our new learning solution offers (mobile) e-learning products in our Mushroom Online Study Centre, combined with live training (classroom or by skype).

Mushroom growers or composters like you are kept busy with the daily running of your farm or compost yard. This blog offers you plenty of handy tips. Maybe some of the tips are familiar, or describe quite logical situations. But there may also be some situations you have never really thought about before.
Mushroom growing is not an exact science. To learn how you can see, understand and act to mushroom signals in the right way is an art. And this art can be mastered. The process of successful mushroom growing starts with a proper assessment of raw materials needed for optimal compost. When it comes to mushroom growing, it is the challenge that you react adequately to changing growth circumstances in order to achieve a good or even better growth result. ‘Mushroom Signals’ will show you how to put this into daily practice. Mushroom Signals is available in the English, Dutch, Chinese, Russian and Polish language.
