Live training combined with e-learning. E-learning offers the basics, leaving more time for individual questions and farm visits during live training!
Organised by Mushroom Office: Mushroom Signals Essentials live training 4 – 8 October 2021.
E-learning course
This e-learning course offers the theorical knowledge from the Mushroom Signals book that is necessary for the live training sessions. You can follow the e-learning course at your own pace and in your own time before the live training. The course explains the basic concepts and processes of composting and mushroom growing. The explanation is followed by questions. When you have submitted the answers, you will receive feedback immediately. If any aspects are unclear, all the information you need can be displayed with one click. Maybe you think: “I already know the basics!” Then why not test your knowledge levels? You can access the questions directly. If your answers are correct, you can complete the course in no time. If a subject comes up that is a little unfamiliar, simply click to return to the theory section after the questions. The e-learning course concludes with an exam, which you can complete on a desktop device and an app on a mobile device. The course remains online after completion so that any information you have forgotten can be found quickly using the search function.
Live course
During live training, all participants have the same basic knowledge, so there is plenty of time to deal with individual questions. This is not only valuable for the participant but sharing knowledge between the trainer and the other participants makes the theory more relevant. The everyday practice at the composting facility and the mushroom farm of the participants will also be discussed. Linking theoretical knowledge about composting and mushroom growing with everyday practice is at the core of effective learning. During the course we will visit mushroom growers, composting companies and other suppliers every day. So that participants can actually see, feel and smell what goes on in practice.
Mark den Ouden and John Peeters are professionals in mushroom cultivation. They were born and bred in the world of mushrooms and have decades of experience in giving courses in mushroom cultivation. (Their partnership already started at the famous Dutch Mushroom School in Horst.) They are active worldwide as consultants to the sector and will share all their expertise with the participants.
The maximum number of participants on the course is 18. The cost of the five-day course is € 1630 (excl. VAT). This includes the e-learning course, Mushroom Signals book, lunches and transport to and from the hotel (Venray centre) and the companies we visit.
